How to get from Bari in Alberobello, Trulli town mailboxes in Polignano a Mare and Monopoli
Either you are planning to spend a weekend in Bari or the first stop on the way to the cities in the Puglia region; once you arrive at the airport, you need a transfer. We thought of offering you a Guide to public transport so that you can choose the right option for your travel style, calendar and budget. Located about 10 km from the city centre, Karol Wojtyla International Airport, named after Pope John Paul II, is served by various means of transport: train, local bus, express bus, taxi. The public transport variant is one to consider, considering that it is very well developed and convenient in price.
So how do you get from the airport to the centre?
From the start, I tell you that the fastest means of transport is the train. A railway line inaugurated in 2013 connects the airport and the main train station in the centre of Bari (FM2 / FR2). The station is not so close to the airport, so you have to take 10 minutes to get to the platform. It is important to follow the signs. Trains leave the airport between 5:26 and 23:38 at intervals of 20-30 minutes. The journey takes about 17 minutes. The price of a ticket is 5 Euro/way. Tickets can be purchased from the train station or from the internet. There is no price difference, and you will always find a place available, so it is unnecessary to book online. So, put the ticket in the yellow boxes on the platform before boarding. A comfortable and direct option is the express bus that connects the airport with Aldo Moro Square. The stations are located in the area of the arrivals/departures terminal. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Tickets are purchased from the driver, the price of a trip being 4 Euro. Buses run from 5:30 until midnight. The cheapest option is the local bus no.16. The connection is not direct; it stops in several stations until it reaches the city centre. The ticket price is 1 Euro/way (if purchased from the agencies inside the terminal) or 1.50 Euro (if purchased from the driver). The journey takes between 40 and 60 minutes. If you take a taxi, you will pay around 25 Euro from the airport to the centre.

From Bari to Alberobello, you can either go directly by train from Bari Centrale or by bus from Bari Largo Sorrentino, or by combining it with the bus. While the bus journey takes just over 1 hour, the train or train + bus journey takes about 2 hours. The price of a return ticket is between 8.60-10 euros. To get from Bari to Polignano a Mare you can take the train from Bari Centrale or the bus from Bari to Largo Ciara. While the train ride takes about 30 minutes, the bus ride takes 45 minutes. The price of a return ticket to the train or bus is 5 Euro.
To get from Bari to Monopoli, you can take the train from Bari Centrale or the bus from Bari to Largo Ignazio Ciaia. The train journey takes between 35-40 minutes. The price of a return ticket is 6.60 Euro.
The bus ride takes 1 hour. The price of a return ticket is 6.40 Euro.
